Novel to be discussed at the library
Book Woman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Michele Richardson will be discussed at the St. Marys Community Public Library on Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the library meeting room. Books are available at the library to check out and read prior to our discussion.
In the 1930’s and 40’s, the WPA established the Pack Horse Library Project, bringing books by horseback to rural Appalachia. This book follows the life of Cussy Mary Carter, the last living female of the rare Blue People ancestry and is based on true life. Join us as we explore this gem of a story, faceted with historical fact, literacy, bigotry, loss, and love.
