The St. Marys Community Public Library is delighted to announce a special event for young science enthusiasts on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 7:00 pm.
Registrations will open in February 2024
Presenter Ellen Engle, from the Armstrong Air and Space Museum, will lead a captivating children’s eclipse activity and safety program.
Engle will unravel the mysteries of solar eclipses, engaging young minds with interactive demonstrations using audience volunteers as the sun, earth, and moon. Participants will have the unique opportunity to construct a device for safely observing solar eclipses, emphasizing the crucial role of eye protection.
With the potential harm posed to unprotected eyes during a solar eclipse, Engle will stress the importance of eclipse viewing safety. Eclipse viewing glasses will be distributed to each child attending the program. To ensure an immersive experience, participation is limited to 50 children.
Don’t miss this educational and fun-filled event, where science comes to life for the young minds of St. Marys.
