The St. Marys Community Public Library invites families to savor the delights of literature at the “Yummy Book Cafe,” a fun-filled book-tasting event designed to ignite a love for reading in children grades K-3. This immersive experience is set to take place on Saturday, September 16th, starting at 12:00 p.m.
At the heart of the “Yummy Book Cafe” lies the concept of a book tasting, a unique and engaging way to introduce children to a wide array of books while fostering a love for reading. Much like a restaurant offers a menu of delectable dishes, the “Yummy Book Cafe” serves up a menu of exciting books that cater to young readers’ appetites for adventure, imagination, and discovery.
The St. Marys Community Public Library will transform into a charming Italian-themed cafe for this occasion. The inviting atmosphere will transport young readers into a world where books come to life.
Just like in a real cafe, children will be seated at tables adorned with checkered tablecloths and receive personal “table service” from friendly library staff who will present the book options and engage in brief, exciting book summaries.
Young readers will have the opportunity to “taste test” these literary treats by reading a few pages or exploring illustrations. This allows them to discover books that truly resonate with their interests.
