The St. Marys Community Public Library is hosting a Candle Making program for adults on Thursday, December 12, at 11:00 A.M. The program will last about 2 hours. This hands-on class is for those who want to learn how to make 3 types of candles. Guided by an instructor, this experience is perfect for beginners interested in crafting their own wax items.
Paraffin Wax Candle
Learn how to make candles using paraffin wax as the primary ingredient, covering the basics of melting the wax, adding fragrance oils and colorants, pouring it into molds, and selecting appropriate wicks, allowing you to create your own personalized candles with different scents and designs.
Beeswax Candle
Beeswax, donated to the library by a local beekeeper, is highly prized as a long-lasting and clean-burning wax. It is 100% natural, produced by bees, and requires very little processing. This beeswax candle will not contain fragrance or color, and we will discuss why.
Molded Wax Melt
Make a scented and colored wax melt by using a fragrance oil and colorants, then pouring the melted wax into silicone molds allowing you to customize the shape and fragrance of your finished product.
All necessary materials are provided by the library.
Registration is required. Sign up soon, supplies are limited to 15 participants.
