Library program features Godfrey Brown Family: Virginia to Ohio 1822
The St. Marys Community Public Library shines a light on the family of enslaved Godfrey Brown, who bought the freedom of 12 family members and himself for $5,650. He then traveled north to Greene County, Ohio, where he established a church near Xenia.
Mary Ann Olding, Architecture Historian and Historic Preservation Consultant, presents this true tale of local history in an online presentation on Thursday, March 25, at 6:00 p.m.
Please email the library at stmaryshelp@seolibraries.org to register and obtain Zoom log-in information.
