The St. Marys Community Public Library and the Heritage Trails Park District jointly invite the public to a Garden Swap and Share. On May 17th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. come to the parking area outside the library and bring your plant divisions and miscellaneous garden plants to swap and share with others.
Then join us for a presentation at 7:00 p.m. given by “Lori the Herbchick,” who will talk about “Edible and Medicinal Plants in Your Backyard.” Learn about her biodiverse yard and how to start your own! Representatives from the St. Marys Garden Club will be available to answer your gardening questions. Information about the 2023 St. Marys Farmers Market will also be available. (Enter a drawing to win a prize and share your gardening tips and tricks.)
Besides this one evening event, plants can be brought to the library during library hours from Monday, May 15, through Saturday, May 20, 2023, where a cart will be stationed at the entrance of the library. Interested persons are able to swap or share potted seedlings, plants, and supplies with fellow gardeners. It’s a great way to expand or reduce your garden by sharing unwanted items with those who would be interested in having them.
