The St. Marys Community Public Library hosts creative writing classes every Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Join us to create characters and worlds. Located in the Young Adult section of the library.
Each week’s class will be based on a different theme:
- June 5th, Dragon in the Library
- June 12th, Alien Pen Pal
- June 26th, Escape the Dungeon
- July 3rd, Climb Mt. St. Marys
- July 10th, Climb Mt. St. Marys
- July 17th, Essay: One Wish
- July 24th, Flash Fiction; First Line, Last Line
- July 31st, Flash Fiction: Write with a Song
The process of writing encourages critical thinking. Organizing thoughts into coherent narratives requires analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating information effectively. Writing nurtures creativity and imagination. Writers can create worlds, characters, and stories that reflect their interests, dreams, and unique perspectives. Teens can use this class to help build characters for future projects like their own stories, comic books, and video games.
