The St. Marys Community Public Library hosts creative writing classes every Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Join us to create characters and worlds. Located in the Young Adult section of the library.
Each week’s class will be based on a different theme: August 7th, Flash Fiction: Dialogue; August 14th, Flash Fiction: Pick a Book; August 21st, Essay Job Advertisement; August 28th, Flash Fiction: Explorer; September 4th, Flash Fiction: Road Trip; September 11th, Flash Fiction: Wedding Prompt; September 18th, Create a Myth; September 25th, Flash Fiction: 3 Things.
The process of writing encourages critical thinking. Organizing thoughts into coherent narratives requires analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating information effectively. Writing nurtures creativity and imagination. Writers can create worlds, characters, and stories that reflect their interests, dreams, and unique perspectives. Teens can use this class to help build characters for future projects like their own stories, comic books, and video games.
