The St. Marys Community Public Library hosts creative writing classes every Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Join us to create characters and worlds. Located in the Young Adult section of the library.
Each week’s class will be based on a different theme:
- October 2nd, Flash Fiction: Retelling
- October 9th, Flash Fiction: Heads or Tails
- October 16th, Essay: One Word Challenge
- October 23rd, Flash Fiction: Explorers
- October 30th, Creature Feature
- November 6th, Short Story
- November 13th, Short Story
The process of writing encourages critical thinking. Organizing thoughts into coherent narratives requires analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating information effectively. Writing nurtures creativity and imagination. Writers can create worlds, characters, and stories that reflect their interests, dreams, and unique perspectives. Teens can use this class to help build characters for future projects like their own stories, comic books, and video games.
