St. Marys Library hosting garden plant swap
The St. Marys Community Public Library and the Heritage Trails Park District jointly invite the public to a Garden Swap running Monday, May 9, through Saturday, May 21. During library hours on those days a cart will be displayed just outside the main entrance for interested persons to swap or share potted seedlings and plant divisions with fellow gardeners. It’s a great way to expand your garden. Sharing is encouraged, but it’s not necessary to bring items in to pick up freebies.
There will be a presentation on Wednesday, May 11 at 6:00 p.m. given by Lawrence Kill, Horticulture Chair of the Auglaize County Fair, who will talk about “Ribbon Winning in Gardening.” You’ll learn how to enter your flowers and vegetables into the fair, what judges look for, and your gardening and showing questions will be answered.
