The St. Marys Community Public Library welcomes the public to a discussion of the Celeste Ng novel Little Fires Everywhere on Thursday, October 14, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Copies of the book may be checked out at the library for reading prior to the discussion.
The many complexities of motherhood and family are examined in this multilayered novel that features the Richardsons, a white, upper-middle class “perfect” family living in Shaker Heights, Ohio. When artist Mia Warren and her daughter Pearl enter their lives, the proverbial plot thickens. Part coming-of-age story and part exploration of racial issues, Ng’s novel tackles many themes at once in a highly readable, thought-provoking novel.
